A Brand New Challenge

I've Decided, In My Wisdom To, Try And Further You Understandings Of Chemistry To Set You All A Challenge To Make An A3 Poster, On the Development Of Atomic Structure, From I Think Dalton To JJ Johnson. With Specific Detail To The Different Theories And The Experiments Which Provided Proof. This Is To Be Handed To Me By Not Latter Than The 24th September. There Will Be A Certificate For The Best.

All the Best,

Tim's Hermitage

Considering Schools Now over, And Its Unlikely anyone will ever look at this again, i'm going to start a virtual hermitage on it. I can also do it without feeling bad because we've now well finished the whole course thing and infact I've left that school. Either way I'm declaring sqauters rite, so this whole web page should be legally mine round about 2016. So If anyone has a probably with this just register your complaints withe the Warden of the Cinque Ports. And If You Don't Mind I'm Just Going To Continue With the whole slowly going crazy thing. I Wonder if anyone will ever comment. So Results day Then? I Wonder If I Failed English, I might have done, I did after all completely rip of one of Thomas Hardy's short stories. But That shouldn't have too much affect, really, hopefully. Also DT Thats A Bit Of A Worry, Due to the shockingly bad paper work, the very on the spot answers in the exams and the fact I'm not sure if my light will have counted as working. Also Citizenship but that's only because I failed the coursework. Other than that it hopefully went well. Hopefully.

All are invited (who are in our triple science class... does not count those who teach it apart from miss Johnson. Not Mr. Snell.)

Preferably chocolate.

See you there!

Science themed songs!

I just heard the periodic table song actually on BBC Radio 2! Yes that's right - it was broadcast on international radio! I'm thinking we should be able to come up with more chemistry-themed songs - fun AND educational! (I can already hear the abuse I'm gonna get for this). So come on - they'll help us revise :). Here's one for free: "Gold", by Spandau Ballet

More Banana Facts

Did you know that the banana is the most popular fruit in the world. People spend more than £10billion on them globally.......

They have been cultivated for more than 4000 years!.....More banana facts coming soon!

the Lord of Physics has been challenged!

The quiz has been set for him today.....he's probably feeling smugly confident after Norwich one last night....we'll see.........evil laugh.....ha ha ha ha....Alistair it is your challenge to beat him.....lest my evil twin come and torture your dreams with moles firing chemistry calculations at you - whilst you are strung up by your big toes! I think Lord Of Physics should eat a piece of fruit for every student in the class who manages to beat him......but of course I'm open to better suggestions!

By the way ....did you know a banana is a herb?

Possible helpful websites.....

Hi Sophie.....these may be useful?

Did Mr Somers give you suggestions? He should have a few that he is allowed to give out....if he hasn't given them to you it would be worth asking.

Best wishes

Where oh where is Ben?

Do I really have to lurch out of my sick bed and come and get him? It's not a pretty side what with all the drool and slime. Please somebody tell me he is supposed to log on and let me know where you've all got up to! (And no Fitz - incontinence has not yet kicked in)

Saturday, 31 January 2009

Yes - I knew there was only 1 Andy B - thanks for that Flem.
Andy G? breathe chickens? what?! too much drum playing?
Alex (Bugs) I can't now go and see Status Quo at Ipwich in half term - do you want some tickets?
And are you all ok with the chemistry you've been working on?

Wednesday, 28 January 2009

Which Andy B? And Tim...are you trying to kill me with bamboozling facts? Ill remember?!
Posse - sorry! It was the best I could come up with at the time - as is the naff name for the website - I think I gave up having an imagination when I took up chemistry. But if you're going to be a chemistry geek - flaunt it! (But not you Fitz) So yes - I am Bimbigeek - but you can call me Miss if you like! I'll double check the coursework situation - we haven't done a Science in The News yet.......and yes I will make sure you have an opportunity to do another Data Handling/Research Task. The Data Hanlding were generally good but the Research Task I think everybody could do with another stab at. The reason I need to double check is that you don't have 2 do all 4 bits - Can-Do's, Research Task, Data Handling and Science In The News - you can choose particular combinations. So we will go with your best combination of allowed marks to go forward. It might be that we have to do some coursework out of lesson time......I won't know until I get back.
That all for now!
Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry I'm not there at the moment....but to try to make sure that you don't have any burning questions that you can't get answered.....or in case you get stuck on a particular question/section I thought I'd set up this blog. Please feel free to post any questions/messages and I'll do my best to answer. You may find that you help each other too - bonus! And Ben - do some work!
