Yes - I knew there was only 1 Andy B - thanks for that Flem.
Andy G? breathe chickens? what?! too much drum playing?
Alex (Bugs) I can't now go and see Status Quo at Ipwich in half term - do you want some tickets?
And are you all ok with the chemistry you've been working on?

yeah been fine we only had to do a foundation exam paper took about 10 mins. but the crazy old man we have as a teacher couldn't do it which is quite worrying.
In Fairness I Feel Lee's Being A Bit Harsh. Bad Lee! However That Is A Good Point, Are People Honestly Getting GSCEs In Science From Just Doing That Level Of Exam, Because I'm Not Joking Bright Year 3 Could Have Done It.
Anyway, BAD LEE!
Interesting Fact:
Science Comes From The Latin Word Meaning Knowledge, And I Read This On Facebook.
To Flemm:
If You Feel The Need To Correct Any Of My Mistakes, Lets Just Say You're A {Word I Shain't Use}. Also It's Not My Fault Your Laptop Crashed, I Still WON!
Tim he got oxidation and neutralisaton mixed up, and didnt realise he was wrong until we all told him so not bad lee bad teacher.
Nah, I'm with Tim on this one, which is rare, especially seeing as I'm a "{Word I Shain't Use}". He's right though - BAD Lee. Naughty step for you.
damn you flem I bet tim paid u to write that.
Who's Lord Of Physic?
I Bet It's That Snell, Just Like Him To Give Himself A Title He Has No Right To1
I think you will find the lord of physics has every right to the title!
Interesting Fact:
the Highest Point In the State Of Georgia, Is Lower Than The Lowest Point In Colorado! True Story!
Lord of Physics? Really? Should that be Lard Of Physics?
I am now going to cry in the corner and eat 12 packets of mini cheddars as comfort food!
no dont cry, science teacher fight! like a normal fight jus more equations.
What's the deal with humburgers these days? They just don't hum like they used to.
Actual Science Thing:
In The Electrolysis Of Brine Why Is Hydrogen Made At The Anode, I Was Thinking Something Along The Lines Of Because The Waters Being Electrolysised Aswell But Then Why Isn't Oxygen Being Made At The Cathode. Also Why's This Salt So Importent And When Are We Going To Here About The Rock Salt Supplies Running Out Like The Fossil Fuels. Also I Made The Best Pop Up Double Page Spread On The Subject Ever!
FOX FACTS OF THE WEEK:
The scientific name of the red fox is Vulpes vulpes.
Fox species include the red fox, the gray fox, the arctic fox, the kit fox and the fennec fox.
A group of foxes is called a “skulk.”
The fox is a solitary animal and usually hunts alone, rather than in packs like wolves or dogs.
The kit fox, or swift fox, can run up to 23 mph for short distances.
Furthermore skulking is an interesting thing, the dictionary definion of skulking is:
1. To lie in hiding, as out of cowardice or bad conscience; lurk.
2. To move about stealthily.
3. To evade work or obligation; shirk.
Now we as teenagers are often accused of skulking but i hardly think we lie in hiding, move stealthily or eveade work. Its very unfair.
I SAW MR SNELL EATING AN APPLE!
Walruses have air sacs in their necks that enable them to keep their heads above water when they sleep. This in turn means its very difficult for them to understand chemistry. FACT||||||||
In Morocco goats climb Argan trees to consume delicious berries which are similar to the olives. Local farmers follow these goats because fruit of the Argan tree has the nut inside which is used to make delicious cooking oil.
Yeah, take that!
That is a rubbish fact no one cares about goats plus it has nothing to do with chemistry!
Here's a better goat fact - the Anglo-Nubian, arguably Britain's greatest contribution to the world of goat-breeding, was created, it is thought, from two breeds; the Zariby from the Sudan, and the Jumna Pari from India. And the saddest part of that story is that i didn't have to use a book or t'internet to find it out - i just knew it. Tune in tomorrow for more interesting farmyard facts.
For Timbo....
When brine is electrolysed there are 2 mains cations attracted to the cathode...the Na+ and also the H+ from the water. The more reactive ion loses the competition to escape from the solution so the less reactive one accepts the electrons and is discharged. (This is because the Na+ ion is more stable when in solution - more in A Level chem....or if you ask me really nicely!)
At the anode the rules are slightly different....if there is a halide ion present - F-, Cl-, Br- etc it is always discharged....e.g
2Cl- ------> Cl2 + 2e-
The electrons released are pumped around the circuit to the cathode. This stops the cathode running out of negative charges and the anode does not gradually become positive. If there is no halide present the O2- always wins the competition to be discharged and O2 is given off. Yes it comes from the water. Do you want the equation?
And Flem - that awe-inspiringly sad! I go to find something in the deep recessess of my brain to match it!
zzzzzzzzzzzz
I Would Like To Register My Complaint About Cardinal Snellsy's Comment, The Phrase He Used Is Very Offensive To My People, I Expect An Apoligy Soon. Though I Suspect It Maybe Me Some Rude Retort.
Where Is My Retort?
I DEAMAND A RETORT!
Isnt that the stand used to hold boiling tubes when heating in science lessons? However i humbly apologise if I have given any offence from my actions of sleeping!
